Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Hydra Zen Swim School.

Why should I choose Hydra Zen for my children?

It’s the environment at Hydra Zen that differs it from all other swim schools. Its a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere where you child will feel at ease with learning to swim. There is no loud “echo” that you hear at most pools and your child will not be distracted and is able to concentrate on learning.

Do you have small classes?

Our classes have a maximum of 4 children in any one class. On average we have just 3 children. Smaller classes mean more attention to your child and faster learning.

Are all your coaches qualified?

Yes. All coaches are qualified and very experienced.

How long are the classes?

Our classes run for 30 mins.

Do you offer private classes?

Yes. Our private class are typically set for either the beginning or end of the day. Private lessons can be shared between siblings if they have similar swimming abilities. Please call if you would like more details on private lessons.

Is the pool heated?

Yes. The pool is set for a constant 33 degrees all year. This allows kids to continue with their lessons all year round.

Why have a magnesium pool?

Hydra Zen pools combine the latest Ozone purification technology with Magnesium to produce a water that is soft and pleasant to swim in. The benefits of mineral pools are well known for their rejuvenation and healing properties. It is great for skin and relaxation. The water is so wonderful, you will want to get in with your child!

My child is scared to start – what do you suggest?

For those children that find swimming daunting we invite you to come a bit earlier than the lesson starts so your child and yourselves can relax in our kid’s playing area and cafe. Sometimes playing together, reading a book and bonding with the surrounding makes a huge difference. With some children, the idea of rushing in, getting in the pool and leaving as soon as they finish does not work. Especially in those early ages where the child is familiarising with water and the idea of floating on its own can be quite scary. Rushing around swimming lessons can get your child nervous, irritable and not keen to work on their swimming. We see it all the time.

Do you serve coffee?

Yes! Hydra Zen is not just for the kids. We would love you to relax in our café and have a coffee and a snack while watching your child learn and enjoy themselves.
